AJD
It looks very nice @Stingrayiii. That's such a great book - the Mystery of the Swamp story is a favourite of mine. (And much better than the Frozen Gold story IMHO.) The artwork and pacing is very spooky. Popular Post DisneyDevotee
The newest, yet oldest, book in my growing duck collection. Or at least tied for oldest. I have WDC&S, which was also in 47. porcupine48, AJD, Get Marwood & I and 3 others

Dr. Love
I've got a friend who doesn't frequent the boards, has uber high grade WDCS books and is willing to move them. Anyone interested, let me know.
AJD
There was a thread in CG about the best and worst depictions of a character. I put these up but thought I'd throw the question out here: was any duck artist better than Barks, and was there ever a worse take than Vic Lockman? I believe Rosa is as good- not better, but as good- as Barks. porcupine48 and Badger

I think the very early stuff was worse personally, but not sure it really counts because the character hadn't evolved yet.

I quite like the early long necked, bandy legged Donald. Yes, it's a long way from the duck we came to love, but there's a crude charm about it. Popular Post Yellow Kid
WDCS has had many subscription premiums over the years. In 1944 they offered 1, 2, or 3 free Donald Duck prints to go with 1, 2, or 3 year subscriptions. In 1946, they offered 6 free prints to go with a three or four year subscription. The prints were the covers of selected previous issues of WDCS but without any printing, just the art work. Later they offered readers a chance to order 10 prints in a set by sending in a nominal fee. I think the prints are both rare and beautiful and am happy to share my set. The comics used were WDCS 24, 25, 29, 30, 33, 41, 43, 45, 47, and 48 and they will be presented in that order. AJD
Those are very nice Rich. I don't recall ever seeing them for sale, despite looking at many, many eBay and auction house ads for WDC&S over the years!
Yellow Kid
One or two used to show up now and then, Andrew, but I haven't seen any in a long time and this is the only set of ten with a mailer that I have ever seen. I think the original owner must have left them in the mailer because the condition is so nice. Of course there must be more of them out there, but I feel very fortunate to have this set.
