Transplant
Well, I hate to follow that stunning book up with this, but hey, why not! It may not be pretty, but it's one of the hardest issues of the run to find, the 2nd to last issue before it became WDC&S. This is one of the comic book sized issues. Now you need the 12 That's just mean. Isn't that book harder than hen's teeth?

Scrooge
Scrooge, here are the 6 stories that don't match the Gladstone list. Code Title - Hero Published H 85218 Zeiltocht Katrien - Donald Duck Jan-90 D 91192 War Of The Wendigo - Uncle Scrooge Jan-91 D 92083 The King Of The Copper Hill - Uncle Scrooge Jan-93 D 92514 The Argonaut Of White Agony Creek - Uncle Scrooge Jan-93 D 93488 The Recluse Of McDuck Manor - Uncle Scrooge Jan-94 D 93574 The Duck Who Never Was - Donald Duck May-94 I'm assuming the first story was never released in the U.S. (H 85218 - Zeiltocht Katrien - Donald Duck Jan-90) That's odd since it was in WDCS 547 (1990) and reprinted in 1997 in # 618. A mistake on the Gladstone folks. I think War of the Wendigo was released in the U.S. at some point, but maybe after 1997? D 91192 War Of The Wendigo - Uncle Scrooge Jan-91 As Shiv mentioned, it was in the recent Barks / Rosa duo books packaged with Land of the Pygmy Indians but was also printed post-1997 in 1999 in # 633. King of Copper Hill probably was renamed "King of the Klondike". (Uncle Scrooge #292 - Life & Times of Scrooge McDuck Chapter 8) D 92083 The King Of The Copper Hill - Uncle Scrooge Jan-93 In fact, King of the Copper Hill is # 288 or episode # 4 and is also known as Raider of the Copper Hill, its original title. The next 2 - D 92514 The Argonaut Of White Agony Creek - Uncle Scrooge Jan-93 D 93488 The Recluse Of McDuck Manor - Uncle Scrooge Jan-94 are other chapters in the Life & Time listed under alternative titles in the list. The Argonaut of White Agony Creek IS The King of the Klondike (Ep. # 8) The Recluse of McDuck Manor is originally The Richest Duck in the World (Ep. # 12) The last one - D 93574 The Duck Who Never Was - Donald Duck May-94 The Duck Who Never Was appeared pre-1997 in Donald Duck # 286 (1994). Another Gladstone miscue.

tb
Shiverbones: a fun little thing about V5#11 is how the red/white Taliaferro reprints on the inside back cover are hard to read because of the awkward way the panels are broken up. Aside from the great covers, it's all the experiments and workarounds during the transition towards the comic book format that makes this my favorite Disney title. Often while reading these books, you can tell how the editors had to put their square pegs into the round holes of the new medium.
ciorac
Okay, I was going to hold off revealing this until Christmas day, but what the hell... This is what Santa brought me this year: Ok Tim, this is going to make your day! You can print this picture out and keep it with the comic for provenance. Here is a picture (and then a flipped aspect one) of the Crescent City Collection just before I bought it, back in 1995. Your book is featured prominently on top of one of the stacks. Congrats and enjoy!

Bonds25
The last one - D 93574 The Duck Who Never Was - Donald Duck May-94 The Duck Who Never Was appeared pre-1997 in Donald Duck # 286 (1994). Another Gladstone miscue. Perfect - thanks for all the clarifications!

Scrooge
The last one - D 93574 The Duck Who Never Was - Donald Duck May-94 The Duck Who Never Was appeared pre-1997 in Donald Duck # 286 (1994). Another Gladstone miscue. Perfect - thanks for all the clarifications! No problem ... now you owe me some time since I *had* to dig the story up. In fact, I have 4 copies of it: DD 286 (I have 2 copies. You're welcome to the lower grade one, just PM me), Picsou 389 and Picsou Hors-Serie C2 (I don't have Picsou 329 though). The French title (the US version is untitled) translates more or less into" "What if Donald was never born ..." or "To be born or not to be born." The story is part of the celebration of DD's 60th Bday. Since Picsou 389 is a 2004 book, the story was updated to celebrate his 70th Bday. In it we see Daisy has a has-been screen actress, HDL are slobbish couch potatoes, Scrooge is living in the streets, Donaldville is in shambles, ... In essence, you guessed it, it's Don Rosa's riff on It's a Wonderful Life. I put up the last page after the covers. I always "like" to compare the coloring decisions. Picsou 389 is a great issue as it retraces DD's life in print, reprinting stories from its long-storied career, so I'll include his first appearance too -
Bonds25
Awesome - thanks! Well, I finally finished my Don Rosa checklist, and have added a few that aren't listed on the INDUCKS website. For the 1st Gladstone & Disney titles, I also listed what comics the stories are reprinted in. (I did NOT include any of the albums (just comics)). AJD
Well, the last twelve issues of Uncle Scrooge have had Rosa back covers celebrating the 60th anniversary of FC 178. That would be issues 372-383. Given the great public service you've done with your list (thank you - I've been meaning to do that for ages), I'll volunteer to list the themes. I'll get to it later today.
