Novel Ideas

I noticed SyFy has "The Expanse" now. I've read three of the novels and really liked it. Almost afraid to see the tv show and have my imagination dashed.

If it does take off I'll probably watch, but I'm in no hurry. Books are usually better anyway.

I would like to see more Dean Koontz books made into movies but done right. When I read Koontz's books they seem like they are written perfectly for a movie but they never seem to turn out just right. On the flip side, King's novels are a little more tedious to read but always seem to be done very well when translated to tv or movies. Not for sure why that is.

I am happy that the Jack Reacher novels have made the movies and that the Bosch novels have made it to 2 seasons on Amazon Prime now. (I will be in two episodes next season) :shy:

Now if only they would do something with the M.Y.T.H novels by Robert Asprin.

My favorite book of all time is "Dark Rivers of the Heart." It was at least 15 to 20 years ahead of it's time on the technological capabilities of tracking people and stuff.

They need to start going through Crichtons work again. Prey and Pirate Latitudes should be at the top of the list. Then remake Jurassic Park, The Lost World and Timeline. But follow the novels storylines this time.

Love Crighton's novels. Even though films produced from his work have been hit and miss, most have been pretty good. Although not much has been said of his few directorial efforts, he was quite good helming films as well. Very talented artist. (thumbs u

I may be just a wee bit biased, but someday I'd like more books from Rachel Caine's Morganville Vampires series picked-up and produced ...

Yeah, I know, ...that's a shameless plug  but our first feature ...a little crowd funded, shot in Dallas (2014)... somehow came in on time and under budget. The six chapter series was then re-edited into an hour long film (pilot). It was a lot of work to produce and we had a professional film crew, directors and cast, but the learning experience was incredible. I tend to look at film production and the end results in an entirely different way than before.

Were you aware Westworld is being remade into a series?

Looks pretty good...

I also really look forward to seeing Dark Tower ( King ) being done right.
