Should that hold, it will be worse than the 66% second-weekend drop weathered by Warner Bros/DC’s Green Lantern back in 2011. I kind of like what they attempted to pull off here with elements of Crisis On Infinite Earths and Flashpoint. Not the best CBM ever - still a major mistake pushing that narrative. But very character-focused across Barry 1, Barry 2, Bruce Wayne/Batman 1989 and Kara. And even the villain in the end when you find out their motivations, and how this drove them crazy. Spoiler Finding out Zod tracked down baby Kal-El and through experimentation killed him was the emotional punch that matchup required. Where I thought it was Kara screaming at Barry in the commercials, "WHAT DID YOU DO" it turned out that was directed towards Zod. But with all the executive influences on this film, you can also see how it caused confusion within the production what would be allowed in or not. And even the executives they had to thank in the end (Toby Emmerich, Walter Hamada) I wonder how much discussion took place right before the film's release. Bummer it didn't work for everyone on here. But dancing around for joy over its failure when it actually made a decent attempt at meeting many needs just seems like forced discontent. I'm more of a Marvel guy than a DC guy, but I have to say I enjoyed this movie (with all of its flaws) more than anything Marvel has done in a while. It likely does not have a shot at Black Adam numbers, but at least it will do better than Shazam 2. Now the question is whether Blue Beetle can top the Flash or not. I am still going to go to see it at some point, but this just goes to show how far the DCU needs to go to get back in the game. Gunn really needs to turn things around with Superman legacy. That being said, I am curious to see how Aquaman 2 does at the end of the year. Wan seems to know how to make $$$. It's plausible many feel the lead performer is a total dee bag and simply won't pay for a ticket because of that. At very least it was a negative how much so I do not know.
