I received a package today of BA sweetness and TupennyConan

threw in some freebie War Collectors' Programs from some previous

SDCC's and they are in awesome shape.

Hey Fay, can you scan that War Collector's Program for me to see? Thanks! :foryou:

Andy

I'm sorry for the delay and I have been battling the flu and a bad cold

and here are some pictures of these incredible Annuals from the SDCC

Whose that Brian Sheppard guy?!? Does he do book signings? He seems famous!! :baiting:

Photobucket is acting up on me and I can't get rid of the ugly "IMG" on

the bottom corners.

Here are a few that didn't show up at all or disappeared.

My pleasure Fay. I'm very happy to see these make it to the War thread. The last pic of the Heath tank is on the Big 5 War Comics Dinner shirt that Mick gave me. I wear the thing all the time. Sometimes even into my office lol My staff knows I'm nuts for comics but they gotta wonder what's up with the tank shirt??? -- I usually am wearing a tie :roflmao:

Anyway, it is all due to Mick's generosity. Meeting him and all the rest of the gang at dinner was a highlight of this year's SDCC.

This thread has been a little slow lately and I finally received

a pretty decent SSWS 151 with that incredible smell inside

these awesome white pages. :cloud9:

SSWS151-1.jpg

I bought it from a very well trusted e-bay seller as a VF+ and

I know the scan I borrowed from the seller isn't the greatest but I

am happy with his grading.

One more along with another eight SA DC war books that I will post

later in the right section.

GIC133-1.jpg

Another VF+ for only 10.00. :acclaim:

I just inspected my GIC 133 again and I think you are right about

it looking better then a VF+. It has just a tiny tiny spine stress

mark near the top staple and the BRC isn't really razor sharp like

the other three corners. hm

I think your copy is a bit nicer. :luhv: I still haven't submitted a book

to CGC so it's hard for me to predict a grade although I've seen

slabbed 9.0's not as nice looking.

Here are a few recent BA arrivals. :cloud9:

Both of these beauties are thanks to Greggy. (worship)

A couple of Furys a good friend on e-bay was selling and the prices

were too cheap to pass up.

I don't understand the Sgt Fury books and I read every word of my

comics including Stan's Soap Box and I've read that Sgt Fury won

the best War Comic book award from about 1967 to the early seventies.

Do you guys think that was just Marvel fever and why didn't OAAW

or GIC win any of those awards when they are so much more popular

today?

I'm not a Sgt Fury hater by no means and they have some awesome

covers and it's the prices you can pick them up for that's interesting

to me. I have a VF+ Sgt Fury # 14 on the way that I only paid 10.00

for and from the same auction Lizards2 won a VF/NM 23 for the same

price. :o

Any thoughts gentlemen?

Great books Jeffro and Fay! Congrats!

The Fury's beginning with issue 44 were great because Severin's fantastic artwork, I'm always glad to see them getting a little more of the love 'round these parts. :applause:

I hope to finish my 1-100 run before the prices catch up with the rest of the SA. :wishluck:

I got a couple of nice BA war books that I want to post, but I just got a new MacBook Pro and I can't get the scanner drivers loaded!!! It's making me crazy.

I'll try and post them soon - raw, NM to NM+ copies of SSWS #149 and OAAW #212.

Nice books everyone!

Shep
