Fantastic Creig Flessel cover. Bob Kane and Bernard Baily stories and art. Joe Shuster art.

 

There are only FOUR graded copies of this book, and other than an incredible 9.4 the other two are a 1.0 and 1.8!!!!! In 15 years, Heritage has only offered ONE copy for sale!!!!

 

I sold my CGC 1.0 copy for $1,650.00 in 2010!!!!

 

So this is a steal for $2,500.00. Good luck finding a copy!!!!!

Not that any issue of this title's easy to find, but this one's a Gerber "8" and specifically highlighted as "scarce" by Overstreet!

 

Of course, this is the highest graded copy out of ten certified issues. Heritage has only offered four certified copies and the four raw copies it has sold have all been low grade.

 

Dover and Clover make their first cover appearance (which is the start of the downfall of this title!). The issue also has an Aquaman story, plus the last appearance of Doctor Fate in this series.

Just one copy grades higher than this one, and of course it is the Church copy. Heritage has only sold three certified copies in 15 years! All raw copies have been low grade.

More Fun Comics #100 (DC, 1944) CGC VF- 7.5 Off-white pages.

 

Since when does a guy swimming in money need rescuing? At any rate, Johnny Quick is taking care of it (he can fly, don't forget). The cover is by Mort Meskin, who also drew Johnny's story inside the book. Also appearing are the Spectre (with Bernard Baily art), Green Arrow, and Aquaman.

Apparently I skipped this one by mistake!

 

 

More Fun Comics #96 (DC, 1941) CGC 7.5

 

Featured in the issue are Green Arrow and Speedy, Johnny Quick, Dr. Fate, Aquaman, and the Spectre, plus humor characters Dover and Clover.

 

Heritage has offered only TWO certified copies of this book, and that was way back in 2002 and 2005!!! Only three low grade copies have ever been offered and the most recent was FOUR years ago!

 

Only five copies have ever been certified making this actually one of the more difficult copies to find. Why? I have no idea!!! But I know I own the third highest graded copy!!!!

 

Now you might say you don't want to pay over guide for this book. I'll tell you how I look at it - it is just $600.00 and good luck finding another copy!

Once you start getting past issue #106 it becomes very difficult to find these books. Frankly, there is a reason why. They weren't that good!!! At least not until Howie Post took over the covers around issue #121. But while from a reading standpoint back in 1946 these books suffered, now in 2016 they are collectors' items!!!

 

Only three copies of this book have been certified. This is the second highest copy with the Church copy not surprisingly being above it.
