Yes, and he has some of the other issues from that run in high grade as well.

I saw your copy in Toronto. It's nice. I picked this up from Ted instead.

Both are great covers with solid sci-fi stories inside! :applause:

The story about the scientist who builds the evil robot bulldozer has one of my favorite bits of dialogue. The girl looks to the hero after watching the scientist die at the hands of the bulldozer: "He loved the bulldozer more than life."

Something we can all learn from.

Awesome cover! Anyone know who the artist is? The style is actually reminiscent of Elvgren.

Allan Anderson, studio mate of Norm Saunders. There was an extensive article on him in Illustration Magazine. His comic covers were done exclusively for Ziff Davis, though some might have been published via St Johns.

I'm so glad you didn't buy the #4 when you saw it! I probably would have bought the #2 if Ted had still had it at Wondercon.

As time permits, I've been going through my set of Airboys in chronological order. I was reading my rag copy of the July 1946 issue and stumbled across this Only in the Golden Age story about The Amoeba. Enjoy. (Sorry if it's been posted before) -

hm Those are in nice shape.

I'm glad about it!!

I already have 2 of these issues. I need to check if they are upgrades. Here are my other copies.

The main question remains: Does Selegue need a copy of any of these two? Then I could trade with him, that is: I send him the books and he runs out of town :baiting:

The next best thing to No. 1.

What's your interest in Flippity & Flop? It's not the most collected run ... except maybe by Honky Cat :baiting:

I "had to" buy a copy as it's a month book ... but otherwise I might not have.

Also, I received more Straight Arrow goodness from the "Conrad" ped. I like the dramatic red cover to # 8 -

Sorry. Not this cat. I have a couple of F&Fs, but the only D.C. funny animals I actively collect are Leading and Comic Cavalcade.

Fun books, though. John, did that #2 come from Diamond?
