Amazing Adventures #2

-This and #4 are my favorite AA covers!

-Awesome colors!

-Green dress, or bikini I guess!

- That creature is friggin gross.

-This cover represents a story inside about an intergalactic zoo that is very similar to a Twilight Zone episode. Wonder which came first?

Quite possibly the hottest girl ever on a comic book cover.....to me at least.

Ladies in VERY BAD places!!! Some more classic covers from the pre-code era!

Hi Triston.......love your taste in books. Very nice.

What is the grade on that Mister Mystery 7. That is one of the last grail Wolverton books that I need and am holding out for the day when a decent copy presents itself. How long have you owned it?

Oooh..oooh, can I do one too?

Haunt of Fear #27

Love the perspective on this cover, Ghastly got the angle just right for horrific effect!

There's a real sense of isolation and you can almost feel the crumbling and creaking of that shack.

Looking at the cast shadows from the porch posts you can tell the hand is rising in the glow of the (probably full) moon!

Another detailed beauty from Ingels. :cloud9:

Just realized somethin!

This cover is a full bleed, even going off the top of the page!! Is this the only one to do so?

Terrors Of The Jungle #17

A pick up from my LCS. They didn't have too many Pre-Codes, but I found this ugly shoved in a modern bag, all beat to hell. :( Looked like it needed a good home. It was marked $24 but I got it for less with my discount. All in all, a pretty rough copy but still able to be handled. Staples were pure rust and I replaced them, but the 3 centerfolds suffered damaged and are now loose along with the cover. But the book is complete.

I like getting a good deal on my books when I can and of course love getting high grade when I have the chance, but for most of my copies, they are readers / beaters. I really like my covers and all pages to be attached, but lately I've noticed with GA, alot of good deals can be had if a staple or both has popped....I'm thinking that when it comes to mid-low grade GA readers, you just gotta take what you can get. What do you all think?

Terrors Of The Jungle #4

L.B. Cole at it again! The blood dripping from the beasts claw won me over!

This is another beat-to-hell copy but I got it for a trade plus a good deal on it! :D

Scott, I've had that book in my collection for quite some time. Probably about 12-15 years. I grades some where between a 6.5 to 7.5. It's a nice copy.

GCD and OSPG have the cover to AA#2 attributed to Schomburg, is this incorrect?

Certainly doesn't look like Schomburg - my #37 edition of OSPG indicates Schomburg art but not cover - did this change in morre recent editions. If anything the cover to #5 is closer to his style.

Thanks for the info. Even from the small scan I could tell it was a sharp copy.

Brain Bats is probably my favorite Wolverton story....or is at least tied with "The Man from the Moon". I see copies quite often during my various searches, but they are usually in a grade lower than what I would like. Your grade is right in my wheelhouse. One of these days. Thanks again for sharing your books.
