Looks like the only winners in this match will be the fish.

 

About fifteen years ago I was attending a special showing of books in a dealer's hotel room here in Toronto. One of his other customers was describing this book and ended his description with the statement "The book fits within the constraints I've defined for my collection."

 

"Sounds like a book that I would fit into my collection however I've defined it" I replied. Everybody laughed.

BTW, I'm presuming that would be a Matt Baker cover?

Nope that's not Mr. Baker. I pride myself on identifying artists, but this one escapes me. Maybe someone else knows. BTW this is the only copy I've ever seen.

 

 

The Gerber guide credits Bill Fraccio.

 

I am a big Baker fan, but this cover is just about as good as most of his stuff. Maybe not as good as his best, but better than some.

I usually ask The MAN to shop at comic shows on my behalf. He's the big fellow with all the silver white hair hanging around Harley Yee's table or wherever else there are a lot of really nice Atom Age and Silver Age books.

Actually it credits him for doing "most" of the covers of the first seriesand this one's in the second but all the covers in both series look to be drawn by the same fellow. And a lot of them are really nice. This one in fact makes me want to reach out and clutch the poor girls to keep them from tumbling down into the water - or something.
