Well, just got a box of moderns back from CGC. Here is what the box looks like.

There are sixteen comics in at least 16 pieces of plastic in this box. Any guesses how many pieces I will find when I open it? Every square inch of the box feels squished; like it was run over just without the tread marks.

I'm pretty sure I see tread marks.
In person, those marks do not look like tread marks; just dirt and filth. In the picture though hm I wonder if someone tried to clean up the evidence. I'm serious when I say the entire box feels "soft".

I have to go back to work but I will show the first book. More tonight!

So, the first book, Preacher #6 in 9.8, survived! This may end up being a testament to CGC's packing quality. Interestingly, there is no damage to the slab but the plastic sleeve has a tear on one of the corners. Does this happen normally during shipping or is it because the box experienced heavy handed handling, the sleeve was stuck between slabs and couldn't move, but slab it contained still put pressure against the sleeve and ripped it? hm I'll have to think about that. For the most part, that side of the box, in the photo, tore open using only one finger.
