I bought most of these in one group from Andy (Dr. Love). He's the one we should all really be thanking for accumulating all of these great romance books in the first place. Thanks to Dr. Love's enthusiastic posting, the photo covers have slowly started to grow on me over the last year. There are a lot of interesting, quirky covers that have been added to my want list. I've been reading a bunch of older books lately and some of the stuff was just terrible at having the illustrations contribute to the flow of the story. rjpb Posted January 20, 2017 Share Posted January 20, 2017 Definitely not my favorite sub-genre, and I like both westerns and romance books, but it is impressive seeing all those high grade copies in one thread. I admit to a real disdain for photo covers, as for me the essence of the comic book is illustration, and I like the covers to look like comics, not some other kind of magazine, but I'd still rather look through a thread of any GA or Atom Age genre, than one filled with late Bronze Age Marvel superhero books which in aggregate are the least compelling chunk of covers out there.
