Robot Man
Jay Disbrow RIP I just read today that GA artist Jay Disbrow just passed away at 91. One of those quirky, cool artists that did a lot of my favorite genre, pre code horror. He was often overlooked because a lot of the books he appeared in had L.B. Cole covers which seemed to get all the love. Such a great unique style. RIP Mr. Disbrow... This kind of non descript crime book had one of my favorite Disbrow stories. The final page is epic! sagii

A real gentleman. I had the pleasure to meet him way back when. I think I have a sketch he did for me laying around somewhere. Sad to hear of his passing. telerites
I really liked his clean art style and still imaginative and detailed. I actually picked up this OA in a CL auction.
Paul © ® ⚽️💙™
I too like Disbrow. Quite underrated and not talked about very much. At least he had a good innings. RIP
catman76
Strange, not even a week ago I was watching the Robert Crumb documentary and he talks about him and being influenced by him and it made me dig out some comics I have with his work. Great Stuff.

Point Five
RIP to Mr. Disbrow. A great artist well familiar to us LB Cole fans. Thanks for passing on the sad news.
50YrsCollctngCmcs
It's great he lived to an old age; hopefully healthy. So many of the artists lived tough lives and didn't last that long. Anyone have a link to an obit to read?
Hap Hazard
I was able to meet him at San Diego Comic Con some 15 years ago and bought this piece from him then. telerites and Jayman

Nice piece Hap! All I got there were some lousy autographs. A very nice guy.

That's some devilishly genius artwork, there! Definitely an unsung talent, as both artist and writer. Interestingly his bio on Lambiek is much longer than LB Cole's... Here's another awesome page of his (BBWTOT #115), courtesy of the Lambiek website: telerites
