It's amazing how different the stories and art were in 1971 from the issues that these giants reprint, which were for the most part 10 years old more or less.

Only two Neal Adams covers left, but there is a nice run of Cary covers coming up. This is a strange period for the series. The Legion was cancelled in Adventure and their run in Action was done. Superboy had to be a hard character to write for since he was supposed to be from a time period in the past. A lot of the hero books were having stories with modern themes in them, but how do you do that with a character who is never really in the present?

The Legion would really be were Superboy would have his final shining moments. They start with backup stories and then eventually push him out of his own book. We're a bit away from that though.
