Worth exploring.  The contractor should be responsible for the people he brings onto the job site. 

Threatening to give him negative reviews online might inspire him to make the OP whole.

The Crippen collection first came to light when Metropolis bought some books from a contractor. It wasn't until years later, when the heirs bought some books to Heritage that they discovered the lowlife had plundered some of their fathers books. I think one of the books stolen was an Action 1.
