The first Kirby issue I bought was #57 with that great Dr. Doom cover. Got it at a HCCA mini-con in 1972. I think I paid $1 for it, and certainly got more than a dollar value out of reading it. Ahem, In 1939 the Eisner/Iger shop was firing on all cylinders. Fiction House and Fox were major beneficiaries, with Lou Fine in the middle of it all.
