Sensational poster ... krappy film! :)

Well, I guess it had to happen.

For the first time ever, I'll have to disagree with one of Sqeggs' posts.

Jamaica Inn is a beautiful film, and Laughton's overblown, grandly entertaining performance is a wonder to behold. :nyah:

Well, ok, but just don't let it happen again! :taptaptap:

I agree that Leyendecker had some great covers.  I think I may like him better than Rockwell.  Maybe because I've seen most of Rockwell's covers too many times.

He was an amazing artist with some flair (thumbsu

I won't post any more old magazines...but if anyone wants to see my Sat Eve Posts here's a link to my album.  I just dug these out of boxes and photographed them this week.  All the 1939s are there, all in order by date...along with all the others from different years...

Again the Centaurs look interesting.  Wonder Comics #1 seems different as well.

I couldn't find a on sale date (maybe because it was a giveaway?)  but comparing the cover dates via cgc slabs.  March could be the Sub Mariner's first appearance?  Maybe?

But.... this raises more questions for me because I was under the impression that the cover date was usually about 3 months after the on sale date.

So...  either something's off, or the gap between the on sale and cover date got larger at some point... soon?  Or.... idk...
