Ditto. Except I oscillated between 9.0 and 9.2. It is a pretty sharp book.

I was going to go 8.5 until I saw what I thought was a puncture in the cover in the light blue area near the middle. I guess I should have asked about it, because if this is a 9.0 that must not be an actual puncture.

By "sharp" you are obviously not referring to three out of the four corners on the front cover. 27_laughing.gif

A little, but the overall sharpness, nice colors, and flatness of the book make it real close to the grade given.

i dunno, looks kinda soft all around to me - I hope you got it for the $0.75 price on the back cover! insane.gifpoke2.gif

nikos was throwing a bit of sympathy my way. Friday night I broke my wrist playing softball. Had to wait all weekend to see a specialist while my hand is still in an awkward direction.

 

just got back from Doc and have scheduled to have either pins or a plate installed tomorrow. typing with one hand right now. I told nikos that with the painkillers I've been on, maybe I'll grade like a real CGC grader stooges.gif Heck the drugs can't hurt since I'm at the bottom of the chart. If I ace this round I still wouldn't recommend this method to anyone else..t'aint no fun.

 

Yeah, I hear ya - the painkillers never really help WHEN YOU'RE IN PAIN! 27_laughing.gifinsane.gif

I was going to go 8.5 until I saw what I thought was a puncture in the cover in the light blue area near the middle. I guess I should have asked about it, because if this is a 9.0 that must not be an actual puncture.

 

Yep... should have asked like I did.

Off-white pages, new label, no tanning poke2.gif, on the back cover there is "71" written in pen, and "75" in pencil, everything else is visible on the scan. Deadline is Monday.

What I question the most is why such a POS was ever slabbed? (no offense Nikos)

 

It's a crummy, meaningless spidey issue through and through - again the marketplace is one weird place 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

I think CGC must hate me, cause if I ever submiitted a book like that it would have gotten at best 7.5 to 8.0!!! YIKES, nothin personal, but that has to be the second worst 9.0 book I have ever seen.

Good eye. I think it's either a color skip, or foreign debris on or in the slab.

 

I went with 9.0 for two reasons:

 

1. CGC is "softer" on corners (pun intended!) than the literal OS standards in this grade.

2. The spine was incredibly clean, which I felt left more leeway in favor of a higher grade despite the corners.

 

Interestingly enough, I never considered 8.5. I was always thinking 8.0 or 9.0 with this book.
