I have no price guides, so I have no idea of the value of anything, but Amazing Mystery Funnies vol2#1 only has four graded copies and I'd think a great early centaur with a great cover like this issue has would have more graded copies if they existed in any grade at all. It's the only comic I have that I am pretty certain is actually rare. Yeah my copy is coverless and missing a couple outer wraps.

This is the first opportunity I've had to acknowledge and express appreciation for the work you've done.  While I want to continue using the $100, 2.0 OSG, baseline, it's fantastic to see realized price points to go along with it!  

Originally, my idea for this thread was to test real world scarcity against the CGC census which presumes rarity through number of books graded.  The only variable that takes the cost of grading and encapsulation into account in determining scarcity of books represented in the census is minimum established value via OSG.  Like Robotman pointed out earlier, there are more known copies of raw books than represented in the census.

For this reason, I'd assume there is at least one more raw copy for every book represented in the census of those that have the baseline criteria.  For those that don't meet the baseline criteria, there may be many more raw copies ...especially in lower grades... that pop-up from time to time.  I'd also add, that for truly rare books or books with iconic covers, origin stories, etc., the upper grade range in OSG ...regardless of the estimated values... is virtually useless until multiples are ascribed to it.

I applaud GoCollect as providing a broader current information service to collectors.  One of my biggest concerns as a collector and dealer of high grade books is the proprietory nature of grading and auction information.  This poses a greater threat to the hobby ...my risk assessment, other's mileage may vary... than any bubble associated with economic uncertainty or misinterpreted outlier auction wins.  Anyway, thanks again!

Thanks to Batman_fan.  I was curious about Green Giant as well! I went to the Bird's Eye & Del Monte sites and found no mention of it.  :facepalm:
