Well, most of you at any rate; I'm still on vacation, and the only thing's I'll be working on are some around-the-house projects and the never-ending battle of organizing the comic collection. I also get to move it to a new room! We're giving up on a dedicated media/movie room & converting it into my comics room/office/man-cave. The bedroom everything is currently in may need to be repurposed in the next nine months or so; hopefully more good news to come on that front. We did Comicpalooza (Houston, TX) over the weekend, and it was a great show. Fantastic opportunity to get together with close friends, comic friends (the folk you see once a year at (Enter Convention Here) & get together for lunch and frosty beverages), and the vendors/artists we've come to know and love. The event was very well managed; traffic paths were wide enough we didn't get into any traffic jams, bag & prop check were efficient, vendors were stocked, and artists were stoked to be getting back to business. Despite the really high prices on keys & grails, I managed to pick up quite a few books at reasonable rates. A special note of appreciation to whichever event organizer decided the T-Mobile truck did *not* need to be part of the show this year; suffering that thing's awful Techno at ear-splitting volume for three days made the show in 2019 particularly painful. Goodbye T-Mobile truck, and good riddance. I've also continued my obsession with collecting ASM 300 cover swipes & custom commissions. I have three new ones in the works courtesy of the convention, and one additional that I'm negotiating with the artist; the only hang-up appears to be schedule-related. He has a bunch of official company work that (obviously) has to come first and hit deadline, but I don't want to be back-burner'd until the end of time. I hope we can work it out, his work is incredible. Anyhow, on with the show! The custom Spider-Women & Earth X Venom were done by Rhiannon Owens (Twitter/IG: @RhiannonDrewIt), who does the Marvel trading cards for Upper Deck & Star Wars trading cards for Topps. The Spider-Man Noir was done by Shannon Stamey (Twitter: @ShannonStamey). Both really good people to work with, and they do fantastic work.
