Popular Post circumstances
My Arrow #3. Nine universal on the census, none higher than 6.0. Heritage has sold three unrestored copies, two in fair, one CGC 3.0 (slightly brittle pages). This is a 9.something. aardvark88
3 original staples better than 2? For some strange reason Dell could afford 3 staples for 'Popular Comics' in 1940 before metal/staple rationing for WW II: Larryw7, Marty Mann, pmpknface and 1 other

Popular Post CrocHntr
This one (Westerner 27) is hard to find. 2 copies on the census and hard to find even a raw copy. I like that the cover checks the box for both Western and GGA. Jack Cole World's Fair cover, Gustavson Arrow story. 5 copies on the census. The highest is a 7.5 (Larson). The next is a 7.0 (Church). The Church copy is the only one Heritage has ever had for auction (in 2010). Here's the Mile High. Can't believe I bought it almost 10 years ago! Pantodude
Ten universal on the census, none higher than 7.5. I am a stamp collector, and this book's existence shocked even me...a STAMPS comic book! Really! Apparently very hard to find in anything but very low grades. Pantodude
And now this book. Getting a lot of mileage out of this one! Used it to post to three threads recently--the Lev Gleason Pub thread, the looming menace in cover thread, and now this one! only 13 universal and most 8.5 or above, so few nice cover books to go around for anything but real money! Pantodude
Look! Mere human heroes! How dare they think they could go up against the enhanced or mutated or even non-human superheroes that were cropping up at the time! Humans' last stand against the new wave of superheroes. Anyway, only 16 universal plus 1 restored on census, with the highest graded being this 9.0 book, sole Denver pedigree. So I assume impossible to find in near mint, let alone better, for now. Pantodude
Sad how lonely some of these books can be, so my last post of the night. This book also appears to be pretty hard to find. Clue Comics v2 #1 (Hillman Periodicals, 1947). Only 6 in CGC Census! A 9.2, 9.0, this 8.0 and a 5.5, 5.0, and 2.5! All my slabs above are CGC btw. Just looks better w/o the top!
