Round 2 opportunity is coming up on Pedigree’s next auction.  Someone must have thought they got a bargain on them when Heritage auctioned them.

Will be very interesting to see if the books rise or fall. Could easily imagine the books falling, especially if they aren't keys, without HA's publicity machine.

I'm sure Doug Schmell will keep the GPA at a high *cough*

So I'm curious, too: do we think Schmell bought these books himself, or are they being consigned?

Good question.  I have no idea but if it wasn’t Doug I am sure the consigner has a reserve on them whether advertised or hidden.

The second time around, when they’ve lost their “fresh to market” sex appeal, my bet is they fade a bit

Maybe, though they are still absolutely gorgeous books. I look forward to bidding in this second auction, too, to see if I can snag some (and I'm bidding on the HA books too, fool's errand that may be).

What we can be sure of is that they will be shilled.

Someone bought over a super high premium (imo) two books I was after hard in the last two auctions then I see them flipped to "make an offer to owner."

What's going on?

I think heritage does that automatically in certain circumstances.

I think heritage does that automatically unless you opt out in certain circumstances

The Pennyworth Bats are getting serious action in tonight’s auction.

The new auction has a lot of his later Bronze books. lots of 9.8's. I bid on his Batman 221 9.6 last week but lost. I have a 9.0 but a Pennyworth would have been a nice upgrade. PS I think 221 is the best Bronze cover of all. Ol' Neal was really brought his A-Game to that cover.

I wonder at what point his graded collection stops. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

He has all of the Batman Adventure books from the late 1990s, which is interesting. I haven't won those, but I really appreciate it.
