If I hadn’t already blown my budget this beauty would have gone a little higher. This cover has everything, well almost. That raw A-man has a little more.

Yep. I think it shows us the mindset of the people we are going up against if we want to get anything on heritage. An extreme example I know but not really an uncommon thing. 

These 2 books- sure they went high but they are scarce, real hard to find especially in these grades. So yeah if you want it expect to pay up. Startling 49 is like one of the most common GA books to come to auction.

I knew the Best would go wild, and the Negro Romance has been a big money book for a while now.  But that Startling is just crazy.  Someone was selling one in similar shape on the boards last year for a very reasonable price without any luck.

Honestly, this book is extremely hard to price. I have a 7.0 copy and have no clue what it's worth on any given day. Same thing happened a couple of years ago where a 4.0 copy sold for over $18k and then 3 months later a 9.0 copy went for a little over $20k. Heck, the Crippin 8.5 copy sold for $23k just 4 months ago. 

In contrast, I have a 7.5 copy of Seven Seas #4, which I have priced at $30k in my spreadsheet. The 7.5 copy with similar page quality just sold for $31k in the current Heritage Auction.

You're right it's all over the place that one. 

Seven Seas 4 , yeah that went big today. Congrats (thumbsu. Personally I like #6 much more but I bet you have a beauty of that one also.
