I've only just heard of this and so I don't know any details, but let's hope it's not just another Johnny Depp saga with Social Credit Scores being the motivating factor.

In today's news-cycle climate overreactions can be so extreme and volatile that even an innocent person's livelihood can get ruined. Thankfully Depp doesn't need anyone anymore, but if it were a lesser actor, it would have ruined their careers. 

Of course, if Gaiman's guilty, it goes without saying that he needs suffer consequences for his actions.
