The Working Man’s Horror

So with PCH going bananas it costs a fella big bucks to collect vintage gruesome books. This thread’s purpose is to highlight awesomely disgusting books that are overlooked, and still affordable. I’ll start, with a healthy dash of personal preference...Crime Suspenstories #11.

I’ve always loved this cover and it’s still cheap (relatively speaking). It has awesome perspective, and even though it only shows the feet, my mind’s imagination automatically fills in the remainder of the scene. Sometimes less is more... Appalling content too, an anatomy professor murdered his wife, and is taking her corpse to his lab so his students can dissect her later...:whatthe:

No offense Callaway, but aren’t you just “shooting yourself in the foot” by putting up a thread like this?

Seems like good fun to me, and unless they're missing from the Photo Journals, people have seen 'em before. (shrug)

A bonus would be if it had this ad on the BC

I love the old ads too. We’re so dang sissified these days that you’d never see anyone calling fat “ugly”.

I also wonder if this device was targeting an alternative market (any Mad Men fans in the house?)...

Prices are through the roof on stuff like this already. Why make it worse?   (shrug)   (thumbsu

Yes, CA dealer on eBay has "Anarcho, Dictator of Death" (Fawcett) asking $100,000. 1970s had great horror covers also at low retail prices. e.g. Weird horror, witch burning, vampire rats :p, voodoo all on 1 Boris painted cover:
