Popular Post Timely
There are a lot of boardies with decades of experience and knowledge! He knew so much that just isn't regularly referenced anywhere (or anywhere convenient anyway). He was a super great guy and always up to discuss comics. Any question I ever had he was available and eager to help. One of the best boardies ever. 01TheDude, oakman29, Ken Aldred and 4 others

Some are specialized in 1 or 2 specific areas and then there are those who basically cover all of comics history. Exactly. When I have a question about Archie Comics, especially weird, rare, and hard to find items, Steve (143ksk) is an amazing wealth of information (much that again has no written reference) and one of the greatest guys I've ever personally met and hung out with on the boards. I'm always amazed at how much knowledge RockMyAmadeus has on multi-print books from the late 80's, early 90's and the understanding he has on print runs and distribution - between him, John Jackson Miller (and his comichron.com), and Mike Voiles (Mikesamazingworld.com), I have a constant source of reference for my own writings. Another guy who I've never met, but who's writing's here I greatly respected was Zonker. He's not around much anymore, but he loved to write and discuss all things comics, and I found his knowledge insightful and with a lot of thought behind it. His expertise seemed to be in the Bronze Age, so... I'm all about that. And when it comes to original art... there are a lot of very good people here, but I personally always looked to Chris (comix4fun), as he has an extensive and impressive involvement in the hobby - he's an easy guy to talk to and he has a great sense of humor. Copper, Moderns.... besides RMA, there's also Brad (SharpComics) who is an encyclopedia of knowledge and one of the nicest guys in this business. It's hard to pin down ONE guy who can have ALL that knowledge... archiecomicscollector, steveinthecity, Hollywood1892 and 6 others

World expert level knowledge. He taught me so much about that particular field, sold me some fantastic Richard Corben books, someone I had a lot in common with, a boardie pal, and a great loss. Junkdrawer
The good news is you don’t need to be the most knowledgeable in the comic book world to make a living, a lifestyle, or a pocket full of money year after year. It helps to keep your finger on the pulse but at least a quick check of the oil every so often. Any first appearances I can just google Hollywood1892, ThothAmon and oakman29 2

Technically these are not the type of questions that boardies post looking for help on as the answers can be easily googled. Some obscure bit of history about an LA comic dealer back in the 70s and Robotman has lots of info right at his fingertips, as he used to go there. Lots of other examples.
