Silentbob
Can I get some recommendations for high quality bags and boards for my best copies? I hope the bags/boards I put my comics in when I was a kid were acid free. Also what's the best way to seal? I'm guessing there is a better way then tape now, as I remember ruining copies on tape pull...

Gerber Mylites + Full Backs + microchamber paper (optional) + Scotch Removalble Tape Mylite bags are made of Mylar and are great for long term storage. Polypropylene would be the next level down... for short term. I bought a small pack of Microchamber paper (same used by CGC) to use with older comics, especially more valuable or with issues such as a musty odor, etc..... I put a lot of my comics in mylar / acid free boards and boxes when I was collecting in the 70's.... from BCE. Chances are if you don't know if you used archival products, then I wouldn't count on them being so. Readcomix

Popular Post lizards2
Never use tape around comics, that is just dumb and asking for trouble. Especially with mylar products - it sticks, it degrades, it makes a mess out of your mylars/mylites. Use these, or equivalent: oakman29, adampasz, Arkham and 8 others 10

Popular Post Heronext
After years of trial & error, I use these. They don’t tear, don’t deform, don’t leave residue, stick well and are easy to lift & remove. One of the best days of my collecting life! It's so funny that you posted that today of all days;) Since I obviously live in Bizarro world;) I ran out of small post-its last week and had to use tape on some books I was packing this morning. I did try and remember to fold under the ends and make tabs so the tape could easily be removed and put somewhere else, but I just ordered more small post-its on Amazon;) Randall Dowling

The colors can help with organization and there's room to place a grade and maybe a date or other snippet of info about the comic. Referring to the Avery Dots. To clarify, I get stuff in all the time with scotch removable tape that has soured, and leaves residue on the bags, not on the tape. Edited 10 hours ago by lizards2 Over time the adhesive on color coded labels lots dries up and leaves residue, guaranteed. The only two things I would use are painters tape or, because it makes Lizards happy, post-its.
