Primetime
Too bad DC never did a Batman Vs. Superman cover like Timely did with their Marvel 9 perhaps, but the "fire" vs. "water" theme matched so nicely that Timely had to do it...the battle was already brewing starting in Marvel Mystery 7 and all the way though #10. t3quila
I obviously missed a great discussion on the Tecs last night, Anecdotally there have been a lot of copies of 33, 37, 31 and 28 in the recent market, but I presume that's just the way of things in this economic cycle, but if you have the cash, none are really rare at the minute. G.A.tor
and by edge, I mean demand/desirability... price wise, they certainly could flip flop werent they a dead heat in price not too long ago? they still are today (thumbs u No, I mean exactly the same price (not off by even a dollar)... were they ? real world, they are pretty much the same... not sure what the guide says, as the guide is not really relevant on pre robin tecs
G.A.tor
a 5.0 copy of tec 31 is approx a $23K book today a 5.0 copy of tec 29 is approx a $22K book today a 5.0 copy of tec 35 is approx a $20K book today a 5.0 copy of tec 33 is approx a $18K book today now there are all kind of variables, like structure, presentation, what defects are visible, pq, etc...so, not all 5.0's are created equal... but, that is about what I have seen in the market over the last few years for my money, I'd want more separation between 31/29 and 35...I think a 5.0 #31 and 29 is worth more than $2-$3k than a #35 in the same grade. just the facts mister...just the facts... (thumbs u yes sir Well, the 35 is catching up to the 31 and 29, but wont pass them. The 29 and 31 will flip in desirability now and then. The 31 is more desired now but I can see the opposite happening not too long down the line. Personally, I like the 29 cover more. Much more action happening on the 29. I disagree...I think 31 will always hold an edge over 29, albeit only slight (I mean, it has for the past 50 years, not sure what is going to change now)....and I agree that 35 will always lag behind those 2... Agreed The 35 will always stay 3d but it has grown to become the 4th most desired issue after 27, 31 and 29 , without a doubt. Its tough to say that 31 will stay 2nd forever though. But no matter what that and the 29 will always be close, that is a fact too. I think it will be pretty firm soon that of course 27 will stay numero uno and that most likely 35 will become the unquestionable 4th. But I agree that 29/31 will always be very close and possibly flip flop around and around as time goes on. No matter what 29 and 31 are some great books. the price flip flopping would be dictated by supply and demand... since I contend there will always be more demand for the iconic 31 (though 29 is ultra cool too), then unless there is new supply added to the market, 31 will probably stay even or edge ahead in price... now, that is not to say that there will be periods where 31 is more available in the market, and 29 is not, and 29 will "blow up" price wise... but long term, pretty safe bet 27 then 31 then 29 then 35 (IMO)
G.A.tor
Soo how much you think 4.0 values are for those same issues? right now (again, this is based on supply and demand) 29 in 4.0 is a 19-20K book 31 in 4.0 is a 20K book 35 in 4.0 is a 15K book 33 in 4.0 is a 12-14K book

Yannis
I guess we can all pretty much agree that 34 is at the bottom when it comes to desirability and demand. I saw like 3 copies on ebay alone. Even a restored one with a ridiculous 3+k price tag that will just collect dust.
