WWOWWWW! Great copies, great covers.

Four-eyes -- haw! -- is so appealing that I swiped him for an avatar.

Don't you go making me collect westerns now mad.gif

that is one sweet cover, man that guy is a master.

Stay away from the westerns... I don't need the competition. Actually I'm just trying to get a few of them for the time being.

Yep, I picked up a few nice books from the Toronto Collection, but the incredible volume of different books is very daunting to any of us Atlas collectors. Does anyone out there have a complete set of Atlas logo books?Mike

I think Adamstrange has about as deep a collection of Atlas books as I have seen on these boards. If I had the cash I'd buy up all the peidgree Atlas books I could find.
Hmm. I think I'd go for Gaines ECs but Pedigree Atlas would be a close second.

Zzutak has also posted more than a few nice Atlases.

I have a small set of copies (not near as many as I'd like) but Atlas was the most prolific publisher of the 50s up to the time of their implosion, putting out up 80 titles per month. I know of only one person with a complete set of Atlas books and a possible second person, both of them are long time collectors/indexers.

A daunting task, to be sure. I recall seeing a short article in a mid-1990s issue of the Comic Buyer's Guide about Brian Peets of A-1 Comics locating the last issue needed to complete a client's Atlas collection. But I can't recall whether this collection involved a single genre (like war) or the whole shebang.

My own collection is limited to pre-code horror/sci-fi and post-code fantasy, and it's nowhere near complete. :sorry:

My Atlas collection is limited to all pre-hero fantasy books, 50's post-code sci-fi, and a smakeral of the odd Kirby westerns and a few other goodies...

I could'nt imagine a complete run of Atlas from the late 40's to the early 60's -- that would be some collection!

Everett had to have one of the COOLEST signatures in comics.I've only been picking up pre code horror for a short while...thanks to you guys, but I already know how fired up you must be about that Venus 18.I've always been a big SA Marvel guy...but I don't think I've ever had as much anticipation for a comic as I did when I was waiting for my Menace 1 or my Venus 17. I just wish I'd started going after them 10 years ago when they were still cheap.GOD BLESS...
