Just bought some lots at auction, only to find that a number of the books in otherwise nice condition have a small red mark through the price or issue number.  Attached is a good example.....otherwise in very nice shape.  There's also a store stamp at the bottom of the first page.  Thoughts?  What's the impact of these?  I haven't opened them all, but the first several have both.....I assume any with the red mark have the store stamp.  Thoughts?

Both marks would be allowable at this grade

I think the marker on the cover and overall read/handled condition of this one copy keeps these books out of the 9s

 

I would guess that an unobtrusive store stamp inside could be allowable up to NM 9.4

Thank you both. The book looks really strong with the exception of those matters.  I hate any writing or ink marks on covers (with the exception of arrival dates), so it has a greater impact in my mind, but I wasn't able to find anything definitive on the impact of either on an otherwise NM/NM- book.

I have a X Men 2(1963) slabbed 8.5 and your copy is way nicer, not sure how much CGC will take off for the marker on the cover or the interior store stamp.

Otherwise nice book 9.0

It’s a newer book meaning CGC will be harsher. 8.0 from me and that is mostly because of the marker on the cover. The date/store stamp is actually something I wish every book I bought had to help tell it’s story:)
