What can I say.  The window was open.....there was no one around....it's your own fault, really.

Fortunately, I had the presence of mind to place a tiny transmitter inside it beforehand, disguised as a replaced staple. An army of angry voles will be with you shortly.

Literally the only animal that hasn't been turned into some sort of super hero.  You fiend!

Can I just say, these montages you do are really fantastic. This one is particularly good.

Cheers Rich :)

They take a while, finding good enough examples. I need to update that one as I've found so many more different types. And this one too:

A few more T&P prices have emerged since I first did it.

I like telling the story with pictures if I can - not a fan of oceans of words.

These are coming along nicely:

Something I dip into every once in a while. There are quite a few left to finish but it's therapeutic.

I have quite a few visual presentations languishing unfinished in my files which I was planning to post here at some point. Here's an example of a quick visual which can tell the story instead of reams of texts, dates and numbers:

Capture.thumb.PNG.daad2bfec6c6e053c04417701ebaa8d5.PNG

I haven't finished it - or any of the others - as I'm in one of my phases where inspiration is low. Normally I'd rattle that off in an hour or so and tart it up a bit more. I'm hoping the mood lifts soon, but these things can be hard to control can't they.

Surely you have an activity / place / person / thing that always lifts your mood? Even if it's only a particular movie / song / NM-copy-of-Avengers#1-that-you-almost-never-get-out-of-the-fireproof-safe ?

Comic pottering.

Just went for a walk with the walkman though. So comics and music really. And fillums. Comics, music and fillums.

Is there anything else?

This will cheer you up, Marwood. I found this in a box yesterday. I knew I had it somewhere! Difficult to see the number. I think it's an 8.

Cor, look at that. What a thing of beauty. Thanks BA :)

That means I can move the tile from here...

1.PNG.a81c6f2a07da884d951350501939a16b.PNG

...to here:

2.thumb.PNG.5d7059e03298bb37dd96e8b47003ed60.PNG

We now have 52 of the 56 titles confirmed with at least one T&P stamped copy. I've updated the table...

3.thumb.PNG.d23545149cbc9bc5054fd96bce87fac5.PNG

....but have marked the indicia date as TBC as the cover says November and the GCD says Sep/Oct (love the date stamp on the GCD copy):

4.thumb.PNG.011bd106d5e4ec5a825ef03b0e5e9859.PNG

I haven't been able to find a copy online to check - would you be able to look in your copy Mr T, and let us know? :wishluck:

As for the stamp being an '8', I've zoomed in and can't make it out. An 8 would be right, and place the book in the 'right' slot on the sequence tables.

Given that these were returns, it's amazing that we have 52 of the 56 ongoing titles in evidence really isn't it. Only four to go. Who would bet against them turning up, duly stamped, at some future point.

Great stuff :)

Definitely Sept-Oct 1959. The previous issue #45 was May-June 1959.

I definitely haven't got the 4 missing ones or ever seen them. I'm sure they are out there though waiting to be discovered for this thread!

Excellent. Is that a first Mr T? A DC with a November cover date and a September/October indicia? Pat Boone had an October cover date for his Sep/Oct indicia first issue. Talk about confusing.

It is unusual. I don't recall any others off the top of my head. It seems even though DC had effectively cancelled Rex at 45, the May-June issue, there was a prepared issue 46 which DC didn't want to waste and pushed it out later in the year.

You could argue that cover dating it November was a cunning plan to give the comic a longer shelf life as there wasn't another issue.

Hi Marwood. You should find attached All-Star Western 110, Falling In Love 32, Girls’ Love Stories 68 and Star-Spangled War Stories 88, all with lovely T&P stamps. I’m looking at your November 27 post, so I hope they’re still of use. I do have Flippity And Flop 47 and Many Loves Of Dobie Gillis 1, but unfortunately they don’t have T&P stamps. I also have Star-Spangled War Stories 89, 90 and 91, all with T&P stamps, if they’re of use.

T'riffic copy!

I checked mine a while back to see if it was stamped, but all I have here is this crappy copy which has never known the caress of a T & P stamp lovingly applied.

Any chance of a swap if I chuck in a couple of early X-Men?

I invested in a run of a dozen or so of the last issues of this title some years ago, and on glancing through them again, I am impressed by the artwork, especially on Detective Chimp, which deserved a much better shop window.

And the abilities of Rex should not be underestimated. His talents are almost, but not quite, the equal of Skippy the bush kangaroo.

And the colouring is strange, too. My copy has the blue colour uniformly across the top, with none of the grey as on this one.

It is not sunlight fading, as the red of the title is unaffected.

Cor Blimey, our cup runneth over today!

Thank you for those four Yrag - brilliant.

Here's the updated 'first stamped issue' table - only four titles left to go now:

Adding Lois Lane .13 with an 8 stamp. There were not many about at the time, maybe Arnold Layne snapped them all up.

Never saw a 12 in spite of diligent searching, probably never made the first T & P-bound tramp steamer.
