Is it that you resized both images to 250 width when you could easily have had both side by side on a PC at 400?

It would have been a fun nod to the scandalous (and unaired in the US) episode if C&B had created their Hellfire Club as opponents for the Avengers and not the Xmen.

I'll have to have a think, as you observe Kirby's cover output was predominantly 1960's and Kane 1970's so there can't be many possibilities of Kirby replacing Kane, just a small window on Kirby's return in 1975 to 1978. I've sold all my reprints post 1971 so will have to have a search on-line and Gerber photo-journal.  

Kane did do some fantastic covers in the 1970's, some really nice ones get overlooked on western reprints.

Not one of the ones (plural) I was looking for, but a great spot.  Unfortunately, although I agree that BK should have a yellow cape.....

 

He is actually far more often depicted with a blue one.
