Wayne-Tec
Excluding books that are already part of your collection and excluding books that are realistically out of reach...if you could name 1 book/grade that is still somewhat obtainable for you, which one would it be and why? Popular Post Sauce Dog
More Fun Comics #56. The very first Doctor Fate cover. and while it is certainly one of the best for that character (the other being #61) it is also one of the standout covers of the Golden Age all around - great composition, strong colors, excellent clean lines, red dressed woman in peril, fire!, it has it all (well, except Nazi's...but we got enough of that in the GA so its nice to have some alternatives without them) Pat Calhoun, Electron, Larryw7 and 5 others
piper
Probably something like Phantom Lady 17 or Startling 49. Maybe GL 1? All of the big GA Hero keys are out of reach for me. Ken Aldred and szucchini
rumrunner71
Strange Tales 28 in 5.0+. I've been trying to put together the Senate Hearing set, and you can imagine the other key that's missing. My budget is not super high, so this one is just enough to make me skittish spending, especially nowadays. Unfortunately, that means waiting for the day when it will be totally out of reach. ender
Probably a More Fun 54 somewhere in the 3.0-4.5 range. It has actually been much harder to find than the 52 or 53. mwotka and Electron
KCOComics
Realistically, it's AF 15. I feel like the days of it being obtainable are running out and it would probably require me to make some tough choices to raise the fund. But since this is a GA I'll give a few. Blue Bolt 105 is a big book I hope to obtain in the next few years. I love pre-batman Tecs, so Tec 1 and Tec 2 would be there for me. Wait, does grail mean 1 book? Popular Post Frisco Larson
Probably Marvel Comics #1 but it would likely have to be a restored copy. The clock is ticking on that idea too ….. Primetime, Badger, Electron and 3 others
Popular Post catman76
I am not going to say. It's very rare and not worth much and even though no one really wants it or cares about it, I don't want to risk anyone else knowing what it is so I don't possibly get someone else looking for it ChillMan, waaaghboss, AJD and 7 others

It varies according to grade and amount of work, but I'd guess the buy-in is at least 25k, for anything you'd want to own.

Oh yeah, I would too, make no mistake, that's a LOT of coin!!! I've never owned it but I have had the pleasurable fortune to leaf through a few copies and for me, it was pretty breathtaking! It was on the same level as the few times I've thumbed through an Action #1 or the time I read the Batman story in Gator's Detective #27 (he said I could, so I couldn't pass that up)!!! Opportunities are few and far between with those 3 books. G.A.tor, Chicago Boy and zen514

circumstances
I guess if I sold or traded books I already have, I could get any grail I wanted. Otherwise they are all out of reach. Books I'd consider grails for me, Action 1, Marvel 1, Tec 27, Cap 1 and MPFW. That's aboot it. zen514
Popular Post Ltpink2002
An unrestored Superman 1. A restored copy was one of my very first big buys. SOTIcollector
It's not a comic book at all. It's the 1954 US Senate Report on comic books and juvenile delinquency. I'll get one, one of these days. Ltpink2002, Larryw7, AJD and 1 other
