Direct edition copies of X-Universe #1 and #2 (limited series), with foil-enhanced cover logos.  This two-part series is part of the Age of Apocalypse story line, featuring appearances by Gwen Stacy, Hulk, Daredevil, and the Fantastic Four.  I prefer to sell this comics as is...a 2-part limited series.

I believe these comics to be in Very Fine condition, or better.  These comics show hardly any wear on the spine, and no tears at the staples.  Both books show a couple of spine stress creases/ticks that barely break the ink, as well as light blunting of the spine corners, as well as a bit of wear near those corners.  The red foil logo on issue #2 shows some scuffing.  Issue #2 grade estimate is the lowest.

Zen, Intergalactic Ninja #2, Collector’s edition (1989 series, Volume 2).  This issue is a 2nd print of the original issue #2, featuring all new artwork…still the same story.  The story is told in all black and white, by Don Cote, Paul Pelletier, and Steve Stern.

There is an interesting story behind this comic.  When I was in college (a long time ago), a buddy of mine and I were in the school jazz/show band.  One day during a break from practicing playing a Count Basie tune, I saw him reading this particular comic.  I wasn't into comic collecting heavily yet...that would come a few years later.  I asked him if I could read it when he was done, and he handed it to me right then and there.  He said he'd read it a few times and was a fan.  So I took it home that day and read it myself.

I didn't think much of it at the time...didn't even know it was a second printing/reprint.  It's not exactly a reprint of the original issue #2 because all the artwork is different.  The original mini-series came out in 1987.  Unfortunately, I forgot this comic at home when I went to class the next day and my buddy didn't even ask me about it.  Long story shortened a bit...it ended up in my collection where it stayed as an oddity for decades.  I don't own any other Zen comics...just this one.

It is a unique comic series, especially when it gained more traction in the 1990's and 2000's.  This particular issue was difficult to research, especially with pricing and values.  I see a wide range of sell prices out there, any where from $3 to $150...for this same exact comic!!!  So I'm going with my gut and making this a best offer listing.  I'm sure someone out there is a Zen follower. (worship)

I believe this comic to be in Fine/Very Fine condition, or better.  This comic shows very light wear on the spine, and no tears at the staples.  There is light blunting of the spine corners, as well as a few spine stress creases/ticks that very lightly break the ink.  The front cover shows light scuffing along the spine, but it doesn’t necessarily break the ink…more of the gloss than anything.  The back cover has light soiling all around the white border, especially near the spine.  A clean and press will definitely help this comic.
