I’m sure my first Kirby would have been a random Eternals or Captain America comic. 

I love Kirby but find his Blank Panther or CA art circa 1977 absolutely jarring to look at. 

I’ll head back over to the SA forum where amazing Kirby art lives before I’m thrown out.

My oldest Kirby, 1939. The character was developed with the hope of being a newspaper strip. I like how the horse gets top billing!

Wow.  1939 that’s awesome.  The owner of my LCS claims to own a Jumbo Comics #1 (Kirby’s first published work) but doesn’t know exactly where it is.  It’s lost in a wharehouse.  He said it’s complete but is missing the cover and is folded in half.

I got this book and some other black cats i bought off friend in 7th grade-it freaked me out a bit it wasnt DC or Marvel it was some weird alien comic

Great book.

Contains 'The Last Enemy', considered a Kamandi prototype.

Same for me.  In the 70s I owned the reprint of the two part story in a Treasury Edition.

I guess I’m the only one around here that likes 1970’s Kirby.  I’ve had this one for awhile and I recently thought it would be worth a lot.  I’m not sure, but I think they go for around $300 when I looked it up.  Way less than I thought.  You might have to correct me though on the price.

Wouldn’t say that.

There’s a lot I like; Fourth World, Kamandi, Demon, Eternals.

There’s also Devil Dinosaur, which is quite insane.

Everyone hates OMAC I think.  Which is too bad because my copy of #1 is super high grade.
