Club Kirby (Inquire Within For Membership) 2 2

It's pretty easy to join.  All you need to do is post a scan or picture of your very first Jack Kirby comic and how old you were when you got it.  After that I was hoping people would post weird and random Kirby things from their collections.  I'll start.  Mine was Eternals #14 and my parents bought it for me when I was four years old.

This one.   As a Jimmy Olsen fan I was disgusted-it made zero sense and tha art-UGH!!
Took me many many years to like Kirby but when I did I went nuts.

I was immediately impressed by the energy of his artwork,  but quickly appreciated his very dynamic art style. There was also the panel layout and graphic storytelling ability as well, although as a kid I wouldn’t really have understood that, and it was just there, working subconsciously, I would guess.

A master of his craft.

That cover was a bad place to start with Kirby.  I prefer his usual style, not this, where he appears to be copying Kneel Atoms.

I don’t specifically remember the first Kirby comic I ever “got”; but I vividly recall the first I ever saw. I was 5.

Purchased these when I was 36. They were my first Kirby’s. BTW, I’m 39 now. I didn’t get back into collecting till I was 34. Big Cap fan so they were must haves.

This was mine. I was branching out into more Marvel as I had only been a Spidey guy. Earlier FF books were expensive by my standards but this was early and had a first appearance according to my Overstreet Guide. I was sixteen or so.

As for oldest, def this one

My 1st was prob this which I found in the back issue bins of my local LCS back around 1980

as a  bonus, I found this when I got it home and opened it up.  I collected from the late 70's to the late 80's. Out of the 1500 or so I have, this is the only one with a signature
