What is Captain Jack’s origin story? Do you guys think he was a sailor in the 1800’s prior to his baseball career and contracted a nasty venereal disease hence the “last name”?

I was always told he will get you high tonight.

Found this entry from 9th edition Encyclopaedia Britannica published in 1889:

"Captain Jack is one of the nine pirate lords in the Brethren Court, the Pirate Lords of the Seven Seas. He can be treacherous and survives mostly by using wit and negotiation rather than by force, opting to flee most dangerous situations and to fight only when necessary. Captain Jack is introduced seeking to regain his ship, the Black Pearl, from his mutinous first mate, Hector Barbossa. Later, he attempts to escape his blood debt to the legendary Davy Jones while fighting the East India Trading Company."

Pictured here is one of his only known descendants.

Or a close relation to Steven Tyler... six to one, half dozen and all that...

I agree with @Jeffro.  It is a wonderful thing that the card forum is attracting new blood.   You know that episode of Seinfeld where Elaine meets Bizarro Jerry and George and Kramer?

Somewhere out there is the card version of Cal who has 103 copies of some Pokemon card just waiting to come here and buy these chat boards.
