I had sent off two packages about a week apart from each other, one was delivered on 2/26 and one was delivered on 3/8. They were both express and I had written EX on the same spot for both my usps small priority boxes. But the 3/8 package has been received and the 2/26 package has not. So I contacted customer service who was super nice, but I found the information I was given a little troubling.

“I will pass this along to the receiving team. If "EX" was written on only one side, it is very likely that is the side that is facing down. I will see if they can find the package, but I cannot guarantee it. If they are unable to locate it at this time, when it is eventually opened your submission will be put on the Express track.”

I only wrote EX on one side of the box because the shipping label takes up the whole side of the small priority box. This is troubling because if what he’s saying is that they only check one side and just send it in, then it’s a 50/50 chance your box goes to the right area. And I’m sure having hundreds or thousands of packages a day being sent in, mine is lost until they open it up weeks or possibly months down the road depending on how backed up they’re getting.

I do resell a lot of my cards I get graded, so it hurts me having to wait that extra time for them to find my package. Especially if they open it late and then put it at the back of the express line. And of course the cards I sent were not cheap, so now the mental games of is my package lost, did I even write EX on the box and other things are starting to creep in. I’m 99% sure I wrote the EX on the box. But now I just have to wonder where my box is.

If anyone else has had this same issue, I would love to know how long it took CGC to find it and put it on track for the right area. Just so I can gauge when mine might possibly be found.

You should mark EX on all sides of the package. It is not possible for us to dig through the mail looking for a single package, sorry.

I have always used a thick red sharpie to write EX or WK on every side of the package. Never had a problem.

If they show as delivered through your carrier, they are there on site. The backlog is just extreme right now.
