Only loosely related so I apologise in advance: A friend and I discovered a shop selling fabulous SA comics (this was in the 80s) but they were sold loose, no bags, hanging in the window on bulldog clips and with a big old sticker smack on the front cover, with the price on. Indeed we saw the owner pricing up when we entered. Sticker on cover, then press firmly with biro to write the price. We tried to explain that he was reducing their value to a fraction by this unnecessary act, but he wouldn't listen. And those stickers wouldn't come off without a tear. One was a GL by Neal Adams!
