Jesse-Lee
As a caveat - I'm not trying to call out CGC or be disrespectful. We've accepted them as an authority in grading, and I recognize that I'm not, which is why I buy CGC slabbed key books. I was just inspired by this recent thread (https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/442575-incredible-hulk-3-with-stain-on-cover/#comments), in which a severely stained Hulk 3 still got a 3.5. I personally own a couple of Batman books - 181 and 244 - that present well above their grade in my opinion. I fully admit that I could be wrong and these deserve the exact grade they received; I'm just sharing that in my opinion, they look better - for example, comparing the 3.0 copy of Batman 181 below to the 3.5 graded Hulk 3 in the linked thread. So I thought it might be fun/instructive to share these and also to see your books that you feel are undergraded and why. Here are my books I referenced: 181 Front : 181 Back 244 Front 244 Back Edited September 23, 2021 by Jesse-Lee djpinkpanther67, MetalPSI and Flanders82
Vixom
Unfortunately I don't have any or remember. I have plenty that look like they should but if you look close enough in the right lightning they are graded correctly by cgc grading standards. Yours look under graded by the pics though. Didn't think the hulk was over graded. I could see a 3 so a single grade off I can accept.

I have a few I will post later. I actively look for books with eye appeal beyond their technical grades...which sometimes means CGC just undergraded. sagii and Point Five

Back cover is fine,, I haven't seen the grading notes but my guess is probably some spine (split, but not detached) issues
southern cross
Here's one Just joking, it looks good for a 2.5 but there is water damaged on the right hand side. Makes for a cheap but nice looking low grade book 👍
shadroch
You can't judge a book by its cover, and you can't grade a comic without looking at the interior. Edited September 23, 2021 by shadroch Jesse-Lee

So true. There are some great-looking 9.xx front covers out there in 4.xx-6.xx slabs. One the reasons the "trust" the OP notes is important. You simply have faith that flaws you can't see are in fact there. Jesse-Lee

More often than not a seemingly low grade on a strong eye-appeal book with no obvious back cover issues is the result of spine splitting.
southern cross
Or water damage that can be seen when you look closely at the book

october
A couple of CGC 3.5's (the A-Man and the MMC) and a CGC 5.5 (the Cap). I think all three are undergraded. The Cap has a near invisible water stain on the back, the MMC has some moisture warping and the A-Man has a lower spine split with a piece of tape on the interior. I think CGC hammers water stains WAY too hard, and foxing/dust shadows not enough. Never made any sense to me. One stain can't be seen and the book gets hammered. Other stains that can be seen aren't treated nearly as harshly. grendelbo, Flanders82 and Larryw7
grendelbo
Here's two - There's creasing around the staples because of poor placement and it's a natural and unavoidable consequence of opening the book. Heck, CGC may have creased it doing a page count. Otherwise it's cherry. I'd grade it 9.2/9.4. I've been over this copy countless times with different lights and different light sources and can't find a flaw except for a very slight handling crease on the top edge. I'd grade it a 9.6/9.8. I ignore the labels and I know I got better books than what the grade states. Flanders82

Knowing they came in a poly bag, it almost has to be pressed due to that Itll have an invisible crease do-boy99
