Just finished this and I have to agree that it was a top top show. The first half of Episode 1 had me a bit sceptical if I was going to continue but once I got to Episode 2 and into the characters I really enjoyed it.

Also very impressive CG and practical effects, all flowed really well.

Americans watched 3 billion minutes of Netflix’s blockbuster hit Squid Game last week. Some of those viewers, apparently, were kids who are now clamoring for Squid-related Halloween costumes.

 

A study this week found costumes from the smash hit series are among the most popular looks being hashtagged on Instagram. Early this week, fashion retailer New Look found the term “Squid Game costumes” among the top 10 most-Instagrammed Halloween looks. It had over 2,000 hashtags, according to the survey.

 

That number had jumped by more than 50% today, with 3,100 such hashtags showing in a similar Instagram search. Many of the photos accompanying the Squid Game hashtagged posts are of children dressed in the show’s trademark green track suits or pink, hooded jumpsuits.

Banking on Squid Game's phenomenal success, Netflix has confirmed it is adding three of Dong-hyuk's past feature films to its list of movies. These titles include Silenced, Miss Granny, and The Fortress. Each of the three films received critical and commercial acclaim in Korea and other parts of Asia, and will now be available to stream to viewers in the U.S.

Squid Game is getting a second season according to series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk. The director and writer of the hit Netflix series spoke to the Associated Press this week about his triumph on the streaming platform and the hunger for more. Netflix's CEO correctly predicted that Squid Game would end up being the biggest series in the history of the service. However, in some previous interviews, Dong-hyuk seemed to indicate that there hadn't been anything concrete yet as far as plans were concerned. Well, it doesn't get more real than "there will indeed be a second season." Gi-hun is going to be back and there will be a lot of fans happy about that. Squid Game has not missed out on much controversy since premiering and it only made sense to keep the train rolling.

 

"So, there's been so much pressure, so much demand, and so much love for a second season. So I almost feel like you leave us no choice," he began. "But, I will say there will indeed be a second season. It's in my head right now. I'm in the planning process currently. But I do think it's too early to say when and how that's going to happen."
