Trying something different for this morning's Early Bird. ...Roads, by Seabury Quinn, Arkham House, 1948 Hardcover First Edition, illustrated by Virgil Finlay. Book is sharp, jacket has a bit of rubbing front and back, and a touch of wear at the top and bottom of the spine strip. Earliest Arkham House book I've owned, this is a delightful bit of whimsy detailing the life of Santa Claus. Asking $120, FIRM SOLD! HC first edition was Gnome Press, 1952. Plenty of wear, some rubbing, cover hanging to the upper staple by the merest thread, and there's a thin vertical strip missing out of the gutter on the CF, brushes up against a couple panels.
