USPS 1095 Boxes have changed!?!?

Looks like the old tried and true "Put a 1092 box inside a 1095 box" method doesn't work any more?

I used the last of my stack of 1095s recently and got some new ones in and they're now different dimension!

The old ones were 15.375 x 12.5 x 3.125

The new ones are 15 x 12 x 3.125

Going from 12.5" wide to 12" wide means a 1092 doesnt fit anymore!

Not sure how long ago this changed, but figured it was worth sharing a heads up.

Go to Fed Ex and get some medium size boxes. I'm pretty sure they're free to take. They should fit inside perfectly.

They were probably tired of people putting down 15x12x3 for the size when they were really supposed to put down 16x13x4...

(I always put down 15x12x3 anyway... but I've noticed I've gotten two additional postage due notices recently which is two more than I've ever gotten.) (I recalibrated my postal scale.)

Did you try putting the 1092 inside the 1095 while both are flat and then opening both as one?  The 1092 should fit in, as it is 13 11/16 x12 while the 1095 is 15x12.  As they open, there will be a bit of a turf war on the 12" side, but since the 1092 is already inside, it may just conform as best as possible.  As opposed to trying slide one inside the other fully formed.  I don't have the new 1095, so I can't check.  You can still put a 1097 into either the 1092 or the 1095.  Before, you could triple box a 1097 into a 1092 into a 1095.  Maybe you still can, using the aforementioned method, but it will be a bit of a battle.

Thanks for the heads up. I used to order these in the large packs, so I still have a bundle right now, but they won't last forever. Wonder if it's worth checking the local USPS and seeing if they have any of the old ones around...
