CCS Pessing and CGC Grading Turn Around Times
1 1

13 posts in this topic

Hello!  When selecting CCS as part of grading, do you combine both turn around times in order to calculate the total completion time?  I sent in 19 comics in April that were checked in on the 20th of May.  If this is the case, my comics will not be completed until probably next summer.  At the time of my submission, the CCS turn around time was a lot less.

Due to turn around times for CCS inrceasing almost daily, I am concerned that my membership credit will expire before my comics even get to the grading process.  I have two addional submissions pending and one more on the way that will be delivered by the end of the week.

Good morning,

Thanks for your message. When you select both pressing and grading, there are separate turnaround times for each service.  That is not combined.  You can find the pressing times here: CGC Services & Fees | CGC (cgccomics.com) and the grading times here: CGC Services & Fees | CGC (cgccomics.com)

As long as your membership was active when your order was first received then it will be completed, even if your membership happens to expire during the processing time.

Thanks!

Will membership credit expire?  I haven't had anything complete the grading process since I renewed my membership.

Good morning,

Your membership credit does expire when your membership does and any unused credit does not carry over to the next year.  If you renew at the Premium or Elite levels, however, you do receive a new $150 credit for the new membership year.

Thank you!

Hi Jennifer,

I just recently upgraded my account to elite status and it said that I would get a $150 credit for doing so.  How do I use this $150 credit?  I'm getting ready to submit another book to CGC that cost around $270 and I want my $150 credit to be applied.  I do not see a comment box or coupon code to use.  Do you know if the $150 will come out automatically on my next purchase?

Thank you and respectfully,

Torin

So, there is a significant chance that I will lose my $150 credit because of CCS/CGC's turn around times.  What if I don't renew my membership, and the remainder of my submissions are still at CGC?  What happens then?  Also, when I submitted my 19 comics, I selected the quick press option that was available at the time.  Although it is no longer available, will you guys still honor the original price? Thanks again

Hi, you do receive an additional $150 credit when you upgrade from Premium to Elite.  That credit is added to your internal account with us and will automatically be applied when you send your order in.  We will deduct off the credit first and then charge you for whatever the remaining balance would be. Thanks!

If your orders were received in our office before your membership expired then you will be allowed to utilize your remaining credit on those orders. If you have an order that is received after the membership has expired then any remaining credit would not be able to be applied to those submissions.

Thanks!

Getting back to the other question on wait times…

…so when books are finished pressing and go back to CGC for grading they go back to the back of the line, so to speak, and that wait time clock begins?

Similar question/clarification. If my math is correct (which it's probably not), a book that is sent at the regular, non-fast track speed, for pressing and grading will take approximately 16-17 months to be returned to the owner. Is that correct?  197 days for pressing, 132 days for Grading, totaling 329 days. Removing weekends that leaves 260 days in the year (excluding holidays) in which grading/pressing happens. At 329 days that would translate into 66 weeks meaning that my submission that shows a "received at CCS" on October 12 will be back to me roughly the middle of February 2023?

They are two different turn around times so, I believe the answer to your question is yes.

I submitted 2 books and they were received at CCS in Nov 2021 and my comics are just now being graded with CGC. It def took the combined time. So expect a long turnaround this route. Pressing before is the best and fastest way so far that I have experienced. I tried all the levels. I found that Standard and Express is the fastest but only worth it if your books are actually valuable anything under 200 is waste of time and you lose cost over value.
