They're nice books, but they're graded too softly. Most of them are at least two and usually three increments over what they should be.

I bought a couple of them: one just to make sure I had an example in my collection, and then another one that was tough enough to find in high grade that I went ahead and bid despite the soft grading of the collection.

I see fairly common issues selling for extremely high prices, which I really don't understand. The books are nice, but they're not fresh enough to justify the multiples that they're getting.

Of course, Heritage's marketing  has some way to go when compared to the sophisticated techniques found elsewhere.

I wouldn’t call myself cheap or frugal. But my momma didn’t raise no fool. I have found better avenues and opportunities to spend my money on that make me a lot happier (as well as a much better return on investment).

To tell you the truth, I’m over it and really stopped looking.

Again, no slam on the books wherever they came from. Even though many are manupilated and over graded. This is a freak of nature collection.

You took the words right out of my mouth, bucko!  And CGC definitely seems to be over grading them; for what purpose though eludes me.

I don't follow the weekly auctions, but I look forward to the signature catalogs.  I'm even keeping them.  Seeing so many keys and scarce books in such high grades is simply awesome.  I guess I've been doing this for so long that I thought nothing could phase me any longer.  I was wrong and it's so cool.

Good thing the Church books were brought to market in the 1970s rather than our modern era of entitlement.  

I can only imagine the complaints that would arise from rolling out a collection 4 times bigger than the Promise collection.

Or the Reilly/SF books ("The marketing story can't be verified!  Everyone's a liar!!!")

Or the Pacific Coast collection ("Only SA?!  This collection sucks!")
