Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Debuts to High Praise on Rotten Tomatoes

The review aggregator combed the Internet for a consensus on Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, after all. With nearly 20 critic reviews live, Rotten Tomatoes has scored the show's first season at 88%. It seems critics were floored by the live-action show's story despite its lack of monster-on-monster battles.

 

At The Verge, critic Charles Pulliam-Moore wrote, "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters' focus on individual people spurred to action by the emergence of Godzilla and his fellow Titans is exactly what makes the show a surprise delight – one that feels like it has potential to be both a proper hit for Apple." With only two negative reviews on hand, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters spurred little else but love with its first reviews, and that goes for ComicBook's own overview. New human family history and gaijus added to the Godzilla/Gojira mythos. Viewed first 2 episodes. Above average special FX, good editing, time shifts btwn Philippines 1952, San Francisco circa 1989 and Japan. Apple TV with Toho Co, USA production.

I watched the first two episodes as well. Enjoyed them. And you even get a period view of Godzilla during one of the films. I thought that was a nice touch.

Go to Best Buy website and search for Apple TV+.  They are offering 3 months of subscription for new & returning customers.

I had an Apple TV subscription that I canceled several months ago.  I just used this to get 3 free months so I can watch the show.   Of course I put a reminder on my calendar to cancel it in 3 months from now as you do need to enter credit card info
