Grader notes: canvasing
2 2

41 posts in this topic

I have a book about to come back from CGC for which the grader notes include the following note:

moderate canvasing left center of front cover

I have no idea what this means.

I haven't received the book yet, so I suppose I could try to determine the meaning once I inspect it.

But curious if others may know what this means.  Appreciate any input.  :)

My guess? A horrendous typo for the word “creasing”.

How or why? Well as someone who once worked in an office (a call center specifically and no not one that called to bother people), I know that I could be chatting with a desk mate and absent mindedly would type a word I was talking about with a colleague into my description on a file. So I’ve seen it happen.

Ask the person who pressed it for you. They will know why and be able to explain it to you.

Chances are they will not, which is why it happened in the first place..

(If only there were an amazing presser to send books to around here. )

:foryou:

bhooks!  Thanks.  Was just trying to remember his name.

I remembered that name......bhhooks22........so went to his profile.

He joined the forum in August of 2007 and made 5,411 posts in three years (last post was in August of 2010).

Looks like he last logged on January 9, 2011.

Anyone know what ever happened to him?

Can it be fixed with good pressing?

I'm confused ...  Are both of them pressers and they're hitting each other?

More than likely  as it seems like everyone thinks they are a presser these days..

Throw a stick, you'll hit one

Was all meant in jest as my own choice when it come to having a book pressed already weighed in on this topic.  And my very first reply was showing the OP what canvassing is .

Edit: I will add that the emojis are just attempting to press each other .
