Fact check: I wasnt 'complaining" about you complaining about button humping-just holding a mirror up to you about safe spaces and whatnot and wanting a safe space from button humping.
man that mirror is really taking its toll on you today lol

That sounds like you're complaining about me saying someone was complaining about someone complaining about button humping.  You're going to need a bigger boat mirror.

It gets pretty easy the more you do it--I actually know what posts to skip most of times just by glancing at the poster's avatar as I scroll down.

What does my avatar tell you to do?

IRL it's simply not reasonable - and might actually be dangerous - to get up in the grill of anyone or everyone you don't get along with, or who says or does something you find objectionable or think is "wrong."  Unfortunately, that kind of thing is easily doable - still not dangerous but frequently unreasonable and childish - on internet sites.  Personal restraint is what's required but sometimes lacking.

Back in the early days of these forums, the mods would pretty much just let us sort it out ourselves.  We’d have epic flame wars.  But at the same time, we’d organize forum dinners at conventions & interact in person with tons of members.  This potential face-to-face usually kept things from escalating beyond a certain point.  There was a sense of community, and flame wars were simply part of that interaction. Nowadays the mods jump in way too early(possibly because of the button humpers), and discussions/arguments get cut short.   By not allowing them to go their natural course & ultimately flame out, these locked threads actually end up breeding further resentment & hostility between members.

Who’s to blame?

The mods? ( talking about you @CGC Mike :baiting:)

Those who post things that may offend?

The button humpers?

Or is there something else?
