You shouldn't have that.  That's impersonation of a forum police officer.

I tried to hit the button, but it said somebody has already reached the maximum number of humps allowed for this thread. :frown:

Maybe they should just remove the button and let the problem sort itself out.

He even has a very Dylan style toilet picture!

I'll never understand this. Who sees a picture of a comic that close to a toilet and goes 'Mmmm I gotta have me that'?

Dylan..

Second time today I've forgotten to specifically exclude Dylan.

Besides Dylan, I mean it's disgusting.

Every single forum in the history of forums has its aggressive, passive-aggressive, and passive members; And their enablers. The problem is if/when someone locks onto a target rather than examining the content of contributions.

If a person exhibits a pattern of low-quality posts, you're likely to find that they make themself a target. I admit that this is rare, but I have seen it happen multiple times.

You will normally attract the attention that your post is looking for. Of course, the Water Cooler does not adhere to these rules. That's where all of the hooligans who have already exposited their comic knowledge hang out for peeing matches.

If you are looking for a safe space to call out the "evil flippers" and cry that "speculators are ruining the hobby", you will be eaten alive and your bones spit into a pile with the other jelly spined weenies.

I've done this without much reproach, so I think it's sufficient to say that this does not factor into perceived "toxicity".

Honestly this is spot on.

But I do believe that the CGC Forum, for all its wonder, wealth of knowledge, and niche (yes, comic books are definitely niche) interests, has become a place where passive aggressive, angry, and sometimes flat out aggressive attitude, dominates the subject lines.

Relative to other forums, except for perhaps the Victor Borge Fan Club, this forum has an above average number of grumpy old men.  Then you have the trolls, internet tough guys, and people that Kav mentioned who have miserable lives and come here to start stuff in a misguided attempt to assuage their own depression.  But there are enough people here who are both knowledgeable and civil to make it worthwhile, so just ignore those others, either by using the ignore function or simply not responding to them.  It gets pretty easy the more you do it--I actually know what posts to skip most of times just by glancing at the poster's avatar as I scroll down.
