Uncanny X-Men 207 - Second Printing 2 2

Does anyone have any info on where this came from?  I can’t find any examples online anywhere.

2nd prints often have ads which are different from first prints. 1st print ads include (not a complete list):

Back cover: Power Pack And The Amazing Spider-Man

Inside front cover: Bonkers

Inside back cover: Star Comics

There is also an ad for books on sale that month.

How do the ads in your 2nd print compare to the ads in a 1st print?

The ads are completely different. These are the back covers and inside front covers. 1st print on the left. 
 

I know printings differ in some ways from one to the next, but I’ve never seen a second printing of 207. There isn’t a category for it in the census. It is not in any registry set that includes variants.

Your #207 second print is the first I'm seeing.  Possibly from a multipack or one of the So Much Fun variants?  I'm intrigued and am going to be looking into this as well.  Very interesting find.

Uncanny X-Men #208 also has a 2nd print that I just found for myself.  Same ads as #207.

I bet there's a lot of those in 1st print holders. No one seems to know anything about it. 

JC Penny did some reprints that looked the same as their 1st prints, but that was around 1992.

did you notice any ad differences between 208 2nd and first printings? i managed to find a 207 second print but haven’t seen a 208 2nd yet. if you could share some images for reference that’d be great!

 

has any further info on the origin of these turned up? wild that these are only just surfacing… makes me wonder how many others are out there

The 2nd print of 208 indicates the printing at the bottom of the first page and has the BLACK SPIDER MAN head on the cover.

The interior front cover and rear cover ads of the 2nd print are different.  First print image is on the left and the 2nd print image is on the right in each of the scans below.  Sorry for the poor images.

First print:

Inside front cover M&M ad.  Inside back cover has MASK ad.

Second print:

Inside cover has NEW UNIVERSE ad.  Inside back cover has  CLASSIC X-MEN ad..

Both 1st and 2nd prints have the same, all black YAMAHA cover.  The only way to discern between the two printings is to look inside the comic.

Are  you sure about this?

I looked at a few copies of XM 207 on eBay and they all have the Power Pack back cover.

My response was in reference to issue 208 only.  He asked about the back cover of 208.

thanks again for the info you guys, I tracked down the 2nd prints of both 207 and 208 thanks to your help with the photos and how to identify them. Now im wondering if there are others during this era. i've been checking 200-220 pretty regularly and still havent seen any others though.

I recently acquired a sealed 3-pack containing Uncanny X-Men #s 206, 207 and 208.  Both 207 and 208 are 2nd prints.  206 is a newsstand edition, and appears to be a 1st print.

On 207 I can read in the indicia that it is the 2nd print, but could not get any kind of photo of that.  The back cover ad is Yamaha (visible in photos below), inside front cover ad is New Universe, and inside back cover ad is Classic X-Men, all different from the 1st print and consistent with known 2nd prints.

On 208 I can read at the bottom of page 1 that it is the 2nd print.  I could not get a decent photo of that, but there is a blurry photo showing it is the 2nd print.  The back cover ad is Yamaha, same as the 1st print.  The inside front cover ad is New Universe and inside back cover ad is Classic X-Men (see photos below), both different from the 1st print and consistent with known 2nd prints.
