When you could go to a show, see tons of great dealers and walk away with a large stack of cool books for a couple grand?

Yeah, I remember it; those days are long gone.  In fact, based on my recollections, walking away with a large stack of kewl books for a couple of grand wasn't that easy, ...mainly because the couple of grand was scarcer than the books!

I suppose it depends on your definition of "large stack," but here's a couple of grand from this weekend.

"Back in the day" I remember spending probably $40 on a large stack of Silver Age Marvels.  Stuff like ASM 110 - 120 were 3/$1 when I first started collecting.

These photos are about 7 or 8 years ago. Some were a little more than $2K and some were a little less. And on some, I felt like I paid too much at the time...

Here is what I picked up at a show on 3/11/20. Three days later we were in lock down due to Covid. I believe I spent around $700. for them. This was about the time when pulps were just starting to gain interest. Heck, that top row is probably worth that now. Sadly, I should have bought more.

That terror tales is up on HA right now and will likely go over 400 by itself.  And it's not even in good condition 😕
